Workshops and Professional Development

Speech Restored provides full-day workshops that bring the principles and strategies from our online modules to life in an interactive, hands-on learning environment. Participants gain practical experience using bite blocks (jaw stability tools) and learn how to integrate them effectively into assessment and intervention for clients with persistent speech sound disorders.

Workshops are designed to balance theory with guided practice, allowing attendees to:

Mentorship and Professional Support

Orofacial Myofunctional and Speech Sound Assessments

Speech Restored offers comprehensive in-person orofacial myofunctional and speech sound assessments for children and adults with persistent speech sound errors in the Edmonton, Alberta area. Virtual assessments are available for Alberta residents only.

The purpose of the assessment is to look beyond the speech sound error itself and identify underlying factors that may be contributing to the difficulty. These may include an inefficient oral resting position, challenges with independent tongue and lip movements, and structural factors such as a narrow palate or underbite that may be affecting oral function and speech production. Assessment findings are used to coach parents and clients on these contributing factors, provide practical strategies to support improved speech production, and offer recommendations for appropriate next steps.

Speech Restored assessments are most effective when supported by an SLP who can provide ongoing assessment and treatment. The assessment provides a clinical foundation and individualized recommendations that can help guide therapy and support progress toward more accurate and consistent speech sound production.
