Speech Restored Modules
Build confidence through structured, clinically relevant lessons.
Overview
Speech Restored Inc. has developed seven structured learning modules that integrate principles of orofacial myofunctional disorders with the clinical application of a jaw stability tool (bite block). These modules are research-informed and include extensive visuals, photographs, and videos to support clinicians in developing competence and confidence in assessment, treatment planning, referrals, and clinical recommendations.

Module 1: Fundamentals & Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders
Gain a foundational understanding of how Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) influence speech, swallowing, and facial development. Explore the four fundamentals of speech sound remediation through research, case examples, and video demonstrations designed to enhance your clinical insight and confidence.
Module 2: Speech Sounds Overview
Discover how speech sounds connect to the four fundamentals of movement and structure — resting position, stability, lateral margins, and tension. This module blends research, video demonstrations, and practical examples to help you understand how consonants and vowels are shaped, supported, and refined through motor-based principles.
Module 3: Bite Blocks
Learn how to effectively use bite blocks to promote jaw stability, tongue independence, and precise articulation. This module combines research, demonstrations, and clinical examples to help you confidently integrate bite blocks into assessment and therapy.
Module 4: Screening
Learn how to complete a functional speech assessment that uncovers the root causes of persistent speech sound errors. This module combines current research, clinical demonstrations, and hands-on assessment tools to help you evaluate speech with precision, efficiency, and confidence. Participants will also learn to feel confident in recognizing when referrals to other professionals are appropriate, ensuring comprehensive, collaborative care for every client.
Module 5: Treatment
Learn how to treat persistent speech sound disorders using principles from orofacial myofunctional therapy and the use of a bite block. This module provides clear, step-by-step strategies, video demonstrations, and practical tools to guide confident, effective treatment.
Module 6: Client Example #1
Follow a real clinical case study demonstrating the step-by-step use of bite blocks in remediating the /r/ sound. Observe assessment, treatment progression, and measurable outcomes through video examples, clinical insights, and session reflections.
